A Glimpse into My Journey

One step at a time.

What I actually say vs what I want to say

img_2128

“How are you?”

What I actually say: “I’m good!  How are you?”

What I want to say: “Life sucks.  Why is this whole adult thing so hard?  But do you even care what my answer is?” 😒

“How have you been?”

What I actually say: “I’ve been great!”

What I want to say: “I was fine until I bumped into you and had to pretend to want to talk to you.” 🙄

“How was your weekend?”

What I actually say: “It was nice and relaxing.”

What I want to say: “Zero things accomplished.  Is it Friday yet?  I think I might be allergic to Mondays.” 😪

“Oh wow, you go volunteering?  That’s so great!”

What I actually say: “Yeah, I really enjoy it.”

What I want to say: “It’s alright.  I needed something on my résumé, but to be honest, I’d rather be home eating a jar of cookies in my PJ’s and watching The Princess Diaries.” 🍪🎥👑

“What are your plans for the future?”

What I actually say: “Maybe I’ll go back to school and get my master’s.”

What I want to say: “I have no idea.  Life’s a mess, and I have nothing figured out.  I think I need a nap.” 😴

Hehe, glad you can relate! A lot of times, we say things merely out of habit and not sincerity.

ha ha ha ha. That’s a Woman’s Mind. That’s why Men cannot understand us, they say, because we are so Smart, We behave Cool but what we actually want to say is “Damn You”.

So true. If we say everything that first comes to mind, what chaos we will have on earth. Lovely post.

    Loved your post!
Yeah,it is for this very reason that I have turned into a good listener because most of the times we don’t mean what we speak and what we mean we never speak it . 🙂

I really try to be a good listener too, also because I don’t like to be interrupted when I speak, so I try to respect others when they speak. Thanks for stopping by!
