A Glimpse into My Journey

One step at a time.

Endless broken promises

Daily Prompt: Promises

img_1383

You said you wouldn’t do it again.

You said you’re telling the truth.

But I can see the lies through your wavering eyes.

I can see the fractured pieces you carelessly conceal.

No longer will I believe in those meaningless words.

No longer am I an innocent, gullible child.

My trust in you has completely shattered.

Your endless broken promises, they don’t even matter.

Been there. Done that. Sometimes, the only thing those who are broken can do is break things (and promises)… find help. find refuge. find healing. It doesn’t make the scars go away, but it certainly will help you find comfort and keep you from repeating history… 😉

My experience has been that if the actions and the words are not in sync, trust the actions. 😉 xoM

A very honest poem, and one that I can relate to. Some people can just straight up lie to your face, maybe for their own personal gain or they simply want to get somewhere and don’t care about another’s feelings. Once trust is gone, it can be gone and it may never come back. We can forgive, but chances are that we will never forget.

It is said that the truth pours out of the body through a thousand pores.

    Very honest post!
The worst part is when we can see through the lies yet feel helpless to point it out and fall prey to gullibility.

Exactly. Even worse is when we point it out, but they won’t admit a single thing.
