Here are a few things I always appreciate more after I return from a trip, vacation, or living somewhere away from home. Let me know if you can relate or if you have anything you would like to share. 🙂
1) Weather
Travels in June
means more sun than moon.
Sweating becomes the norm,
but I’d prefer it less warm.
2) Home cooked meals
At first, pizza and donuts become the staple.
But after 3 meals, I crave only an apple.
Besides, who in their right mind
willingly pays $15 for a tiny slice of packaged pie?
3) Water
Once readily available,
until water fountains became seemingly invisible.
I guess I’ll settle for the overpriced bottle,
which unfortunately tasted more like metal.
4) Bed & blanket
Maybe it’s just me,
but overly soft beds aren’t as comfy.
Juxtaposed with the flimsy thin blanket
makes the hotel price simply not worth it.
5) Bathrooms
Bathrooms are one of the things we often neglect.
That is, until we go out and can no longer forget.
How can some people make such a mess?
Oh well, I’ve seen worse, I must confess.
Totally agree with the bathroom stuff!

My husband loves being home. Now I am the one that wants to stay at the beach.

I do get bored and would want a change in scenery if I stay in one place for too long. I wish I had some nice beaches close by. I would probably go there all the time.
